The Kite Rider

This book is a very interesting and complex book. If you enjoy an ancient tale, an exciting adventure or a challenging novel, you will love this book. This book is filled with action, drama and the truth. I found this book was very confusing and very challenging. It is suitable for older grades such as Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7.
This author has used a very descriptive technique that makes you want to read on and keep you interested. The way she has put together the tale is very complex.
This book is set in 13th century Ancient China, a place where anything is possible by anyone. Haoyou discovers the views, noise and scents of Ancient China that fills his mind with different senses of the world and what can happen.
Haoyou and his widowed and medium cousin Mipeng go on an exciting and amazing adventure travelling on The Jade Circus. I think this book gives you the message that in the world you should show respect to everyone. (Recommendation by Connie, Year 5)

This book is great. I like the technique and that the moral of the story is to respect others. Also I think that the description is so good that you can imagine the pictures in your head.I also think that this book is good for young adults who like books with
action and drama. Josh yr 5

Connie has written a very good review because she tells everyone a lot about the book and makes you want to read more.I thought that this book was very challenging and sometimes I would actually get lost in the book and I would feel like I was one of the characters. I think most people wpould read this book because it is full of sadness, anger and mischief.

I thought that this book was a bit hard to understand and it was challenging for all of us because the names were very different and hard to pronounce.
I would recommend this book to people 10-16 years of age and also to people who like to read challenging books.

I also would like to add that this book is a fantasy tale and I think that it may or may not give the idea that you should watch out for people who may seem like a friendly face but are not so nice. Also when reading this book, it makes you think about how this could relate to your life.

In your first paragraph you wrote that this book was suitable for older grades such as Year 5, Year 6 and year7.I could not understand the part of this sentence where you wrote ”suitable for older grades such as”. I think the reader would ask you”older than what?”. The rest of your review was very good.
