I read the easy version of the Wizard Of Oz. The best part I liked was when Dorothy put some water on the wicked witch. Sabrina, Year 1

What a great story it is. Lots of lessons - about the good and the bad, the friendhip among people/animals and love for people/place you know.

The best part I liked is when the little man (who was thought to be a wizard) said 'They were already clever, kind and brave. They just didn't know it.'

I think that Dorothy really did go to the land of Oz because her aunt Em asked where she was and Dorothy said 'the land of oz'

Lyman Frank Baum, the author of 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz', was born in New York in 1856 and died in California in 1919.

This book, the first of fourteen in the 'Oz' series, was the best selling childrens' book for two years after its release!

'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz' was first published in 1900, that is over 100 years ago!
